सीप Participates in Tillottama Investment Summit; MoU Between Tillottama Municipality & सीप Also Announced

Upon Tilottama Municipality’s Mayor Basu Dev Ghimire’s invitation, सीप’s Team Leader Baljit Vohra and Deputy Team Leader Prasanna KC participated in the first Tilottama Investment Summit on 26th September 2019. During the panel discussion on “working with the private sector to create employment”, Mr. Vohra gave examples of replicable and scalable Public Private Partnership Models which could be adopted by the Municipality to catalyse system-wide collaborations and adoption; generating increased investments and scale in skills development, employment creation, and business start-up services. Similarly, Mr. KC highlighted on सीप’s Challenge Fund mechanism which could leverage private sector investment.

During the closing ceremony, Mayor Ghimire also announced a Memorandum of Understanding between Tillottama Muncipality and UKaid सीप aimed at increasing skilling and employment initiatives to leverage investment and create employment in Tilottama Municipality.

Tilottama Investment Summit was the first investment summit to be held in a local unit outside the federal capital of Kathmandu. Organized by Tilottama Municipality, the summit aims to att ract Rs. 50 billion in new investments to carry out development projects in sectors as diverse as agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and production, among others.
